The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) along with WHO welcomes the participants and delegates of the “1st World Conference on Access to Medical Products and International Laws for Trade and Health, in the Context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, scheduled from 21 November 2017 to 23 November 2017 at Hotel Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi, India.

As you know the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 are an ambitious global agenda. Health finds mention in Goal 3- Good Health and Well-being, however, many of the 17 SDGs have a direct or indirect bearing on health. Therefore diverse capacities are required to come on board to achieve the SDG aspirations.

In this conference, MOH with the support of WHO and in partnership with Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) also focuses on Access to medicines which is one of the critical factors for success SDG Agenda. Universal health coverage and access to medicines, is one of the regional flagship priorities for countries in the WHO South-East Asia Region.

The main objective of the Conference is to exchange knowledge and expand understanding on contemporary issues in international trade laws and research and innovation for access to medical products (including medicines, vaccines, devices, diagnostics) to achieve SDG 2030 agenda.

Further discussions will focus on the United Nations Secretary-General's High-Level Panel Report 2016, fair pricing, market entry for domestic and cross border access, R&D/ partnership and industry initiatives for access to medicines.

The Conference has been designed where experts are invited for providing guidance and specific recommendations leading to possible policy interventions. We request you to participate for all the three days in the Conference and provide your valuable inputs for tangible outcomes.
